Stop giving an empty chair a seat at your table
Stop giving an empty chair a seat at your table
One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that not everything that speaks to you deserves a seat at your table.
Every day we hear voices competing for our attention. Some come from other people, and some come from within. Fear tells us we're not ready.
Doubt tells us we're not good enough. Past mistakes remind us of what went wrong. Negative experiences try to convince us that nothing will ever change.
If we're not careful, we begin to believe those voices.
For years, many women have carried around thoughts that tell them they are too old, too late, too broken, or too far behind. They compare themselves to others and wonder why they haven't achieved the things they hoped for. Little by little, those thoughts begin to take up space in their minds and influence the decisions they make.
The truth is, the voice you listen to the most will often determine the direction of your life.
If you constantly tell yourself that you can't, you probably won't. If you focus only on what is missing, you'll overlook what is possible. If you continue to replay old failures, you'll struggle to embrace new opportunities.
At some point, we have to make a decision.
We have to stop giving fear a seat at our table.
We have to stop inviting self-doubt into every conversation.
We have to stop allowing negative thoughts to have the final say.
Instead, we must make room for faith, growth, courage, and possibility.
This doesn't mean life will be perfect. It doesn't mean challenges won't come. It means we choose not to allow those challenges to define us. We choose to believe that our future can be greater than our past.
Today, I encourage you to pay attention to the conversations happening in your mind. What are you telling yourself? Are those thoughts helping you move forward, or are they keeping you stuck?
You have more strength than you realize.
You have more purpose than you know.
And your story is still being written.
Don't allow fear, doubt, or negativity to occupy a place they were never meant to have.
It's time to take back your seat.
